Step by step

  1. 1

    Open the needs calculation

Go to the Workshop, then “Replenishment”, and click Work out what a production run needs

  2. 2

    Choose the finished products

One or more finished products and their quantities, then “Calculate”. The calculation relies on recipes: a product without a recipe is flagged and not counted.

  3. 3

    Read the calculated list

The calculation goes all the way down to materials — a gift box calls for the wax of its candles. Each line says whether it is a raw material or a supply, and the “To order” column counts in packs when the pack size is filled in.

  4. 4

    Export or create the requests

“Export as PDF” produces the shopping list; “Create replenishment requests” creates one request per material, each one carrying the production that gave rise to it.

What you can do

  • The need is gross: stock in reserve is not deducted. The list says what production consumes, not what is left to order — and the PDF states it in black and white.
